Where is this doc from? Upon the death of a long retired Cambridge government person, his family tossed papers and photos in the dumpster. I salvaged some in case they changed their minds (they didn't), and later found this document in a photo's folder. As Cambridge currently lacks an archives (a proposal is in the works; most stuff like this is apparently scattered in boxes in attics), I'll probably turn this over to Harvard, or perhaps the Cambridge Historical Commission. But for a quirk of fate, this document would now be landfill. Along with who-knows-how-many-other documents which are.

My thanks to Keith Glavash of MIT Document Services, and to Donald York of the Cambridge Public Library.

I've run out of time for the evening. Contributions/comments welcome.

Doables:
This is all very crufty. Cleanup would be nice.
Type out the second page. Review the first.
  Put original scans online.
Scan Camb.Hist.Comm. map of 1775 Cambridge to provide context.
  What is Camb. 1740 population?
  Printable version.
  Single image per page.
  Describe physical form.
Add search keywords like: budget, mid eighteenth century,
   united states colonies, 1739.

History:
2001-Dec-08 Changed title. The page never actually said "account". Sigh.
2000.may.26 Doc scanned. This page created. All very quick-and-dirty.
  2000.apr.18 Doc discovered. (Surprise!:)
2000.winter Doc unknowingly salvaged from a garbage dumpster.
  1739-1740 Doc written.
